Mrs. Suwaiba Ibrahim Sani is the Acting State Manager for the Institute of Human Virology Nigeria (IHVN) in Katsina State. She supervises the activities of the Institute’s HIV program targeted at achieving epidemic control of HIV in the state as well as in the country.
Mrs. Sani works with staff, health-care facilities, government and partners for high quality treatment, care and support for people living with and affected by HIV. She also coordinates the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of innovative strategies to improve service delivery.
She has served in the capacities of Program Officer, Senior Program Officer and Senior Technical Officer from 2007 to date within the Institute. Her area of expertise includes Maternal and Neonatal Child Health (Prevention of Mother-To-Child Transmission of HIV), community engagement to promote public health, human resources for health development and family planning.
Her over 30 years of experience as a nurse, midwife and public health nurse spans across several public health facilities including Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano where she served as a Chief Nursing Officer prior to joining IHVN.
Mrs. Sani has attended and facilitated several trainings on public health program implementation. Her hobbies are reading and nurturing animals. She is married with children.
