Dr. John Kwari steers the activities of the Institute’s North-Central Office in Jos as the Regional Manager. He supervises the implementation of programs aimed at mitigating the effect of HIV, TB, malaria and other infectious and non-infectious diseases. He also oversees planning, monitoring and evaluating health care programs in the region.
He has served as the Regional Manager of IHVN in the North-West regional office in Kano and the FCT regional office in Abuja. He joined IHVN as Program Officer handling responsibilities such as the implementation of HIV clinical services at supported hospitals.
He has over 30 years of experience in public health service having served with the Borno State Hospitals Management Board, the Nigerian Telecommunications Limited (NITEL) and Faith Alive Foundation Hospital, Jos.
Dr. Kwari is a graduate of the University of Maiduguri where he obtained the Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) degree in 1987. He also obtained a Master’s degree in Public Health(MPH) from the University of Lagos in 2002. He has attended several trainings and workshops on antiretroviral therapy, adult learning and facilitation skills, quality improvement, statistical methods in epidemiology and management of tuberculosis among others.
Dr. Kwari is married with three children and loves football, athletics and golf.
