As Head of the Safety and Security Unit of the Institute of Human Virology Nigeria (IHVN), Engr. Tunde Adekoya works to safeguard the Institute’s staff and property. He supervises the activities of fire marshals trained to take measures to prevent fire in the Institute’s office premises and laboratories.
Supervision of security operatives in all IHVN facilities, monitoring of alarm systems, CCTV cameras and access controls also fall under his purview. He liaises with security personnel and alerts management of security threats.
Engr. Adekoya, who also works as an Electrical Maintenance Officer for the organization, designs electrical support services for biomedical, biotechnological and information technology network infrastructures. His duties also include supervision of electrical operations; routine checks for functionality on power structures.
He is a trained Fire Marshal and a registered engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) .Engr. Adekoya has certification from the Risk and Strategic Management Corp on Security Focal Point Leadership. Engr Adekoya and has about 15 years extensive experience as a field service, transmission engineer and in telecommunications.
He is an alumnus of the University of Lagos where he earned a Bachelors Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. He also has Global VSAT Forum certifications.
His hobbies are reading, driving and event management and he is married with children.
