Brief About Mr. Timzing Miri-Dashe

Biography

As the Regional Manager of Jos Region, Mr. Timzing Miri-Dashe oversees the Plateau State Human Virology Research Center (PLASVIREC), a SANAS Accredited Medical Laboratory No. MO611(ISO 15189:2021). He provides technical and administrative oversight to Drug Resistant Tuberculosis (DRTB) treatment centers and reference laboratories in Plateau, Gombe, Bauchi, Taraba and Adamawa States. He also provides administrative and technical support for optimized Gene Xpert laboratories in North-East and North-Central Nigeria.

On the Global Fund TB-HIV Reach, Integration and Impact Project (N-THRIP), Timzing supervises the activities of the Sub-Recipient, Leprosy Relief Initiative (LTRI), in Plateau, Adamawa, Yobe and Borno states, KNCV in Bauchi, RedAid Nigeria in Taraba to provide TB/HIV services and Society for Family Health (Gombe) to provide End to End comprehensive HIV treatment care and support.

He has extensive experience and competencies in laboratory equipment operations, Quality management systems, Good laboratory Practices(GLP), laboratory operations and safety, policy formulation and management, program implementation, and research.

His more than 20 years of experience spans service in laboratory operations and management for non-governmental organizations. Within IHVN, he has progressed through the positions of Program Assistant, Program Officer, Senior Program Officer, Program Manager, and Senior Program Manager. He was also the Laboratory Advisor for the CHEMONICS SHARP Task Order 1 three-year project where he supervised laboratory operations in five states as well as cervical cancer program. He has worked as the Head of the Field Operations Unit at IHVN and participated in mentoring and supervising PLASVIREC to gain international accreditation.

Mr. Miri-Dashe qualified as a Medical Laboratory Technician from the College of Health Technology, Zawan, Plateau State in 1994 and proceeded to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Laboratory Science from the University of Jos in 2016. He has a Masters in Public Health degree from Texilla American University, Guyana Campus, and is studying to earn a Masters in Medical Laboratory Science from the Ambrose Alli University in Ekpoma, Edo State.

He has attended and facilitated numerous laboratory trainings, and his research interests are in tuberculosis and virology.

He is married with children and his hobbies are traveling and reading
